Has anyone used AL's Wood Custom Wood Finishing shop for cabinets? Thinking of refacing our kitchen with MDF ?
|
I have never had good experience with MDF products, especially where there is high humidity. If you are looking to reface the cabinets, I would suggest going with solid wood if you can afford it. Also, so that you do not waste your money, look very carefully at the existing cabinets for signs of wear and tear on the cabinet internals, shelving, hardware, etc. Back up North, we had bowed shelving, and definite breakdown of the MDF in the sink area due to prior minor links. We replaced with cabinets that were plywood (7 to 11 layers) for the sides and shelves, and solid wood fronts.
Hope this helps. |
