Hunter rain detector replacement
I am a DIY type person, and my neighbor noticed my sprinklers were running after rainstorms. I checked and the senor appeared to be defective (house is 3 years old). Went to the local hardware store, and bought the wrong part. IF YOU HAVE A HUNTER SOLAR SENSOR based system, the Hunter MINICLICK will NOT work. I found the correct Hunter Solar Sensor, and the system is now working.
So I have a left over Hunter MiniClick, which I paid $36.16 on 9/15/2016, that I would like to sell for $20. I cannot return, as I cut the wire when I installed it. If you have a system that just uses a contact type sensor, this could be a good deal. |

I wonder if the Internet connected controllers are okay?
Mine automatically adjusts per local NOAA rainfall. |
I don't trust the one I have now and the one I had in my last home in S. Florida. Put a rain gauge in you're yard and turn off the system if it is scheduled to go on after a rain storm, (1/2 inch or more)

Update on my system, A big thank you to a fellow villager who sent me PM telling me the Hunter sensors have a 5 year warranty, but I had to contact Hunter directly. When I called home warranty, they gave me the name of the installed, but the installed only covers the equipment for 2 years, they gave me the contact (tech support) for Hunter. Sending to old unit to them today for a replacement.

Mine is dead. Thanks so much for the info. Calling Hunter now ...

How can you tell if the sensor is dead?

In my case, it doesn't turn off the system when it rains. No amount of fiddling with it would bring it back to life.
