Cleaning outdoor sunbrella fabric

We have outdoor upholstered furniture in our birdcage, covered over top. It gets no rain (unless it blows in) but do to the humidity, the sunbrella fabric has some darkened areas starting. Looks like mold or mildew perhaps?

I am looking for suggestions on the best way to clean the fabric. Is this normal for Florida?

We purchased our outdoor furniture 10 years ago and the store sold us a fabric spray that protected the cushions from the elements. We used two applications in those 10 years and the cushion look like new. You may want to stop by a store that sells outdoor furniture and see if they carry such a product and suggestions on how to clean your cushions before applying the spray

We use a solution u can buy at Home Depot or Ace called 30 SECONDS.... All u do is spray on even your umbrella and leave about 30 seconds and hose off!!!! Fabulous and does not fade material. We use it on our hard scare and much more. Good luck.

Wash it with a dilute clorox solution and the black will come right off.

Thank you for bringing this up! My furniture does the same thing. We keep it totally undercover and it has those moldy spots on it. I just vacuumed my furniture a few days ago to get the dirt off it but those spots!!

I've tried this on one of my sunbrella upholstered chairs. I have 10 chairs that need to be cleaned and it seems there must be a better, easier way to do it. I'm wondering if the people that clean rugs would be able to tackle this project in a much timelier manner than I could with a scrub brush?

Thanks, everyone! I'm going to look into the protective spray and in the meantime maybe cautiously try a mild bleach solution. 409 did not work great.
