Need help with car question

Does anyone know when was the last year that the Honda CRV used a key type ignition not a key-less ignition?

Sounds like 2014

Hi, we found on two rentals, need to carry two small bricks around for the keyless, garbage, so not for us, will not buy keyless. And, if you get out of the car and lock it and stay close, it will unlock as you walk away, both cars did that. The Detroit gear heads did it again. Looking at Buick instead, they said we can get a key ignitioin, from the factory. And, another item, WE WOULD NOT allow them to change it, take out the keyless and put a key in? NO WAY.
Just a thought on that, do your own planning we are just expressing an opinion and do not want to stir up the troops.

Had keyless cars since 2010--zero problems--its the manufacturer, not the system

I would think a 1966 Chevy Nova station wagon would be an excellent replacement for the CRV. Inherently simple in design and operation plus cheap to maintain and repair.

Unless you're in a crash, then you're a dead duck--the old cars were cool, but--they had lousy brakes, no air bags, no crumple zones and they didn't handle well @ all--was thinking about buying a classic, until I drove one

Better to live a short dangerous life than a long mediocre one [emoji3]

1963 RestoMod Corvette handles like a Ferrari.

Back in '63 I sped through my neighborhood on my Schwinn 5 speed stingray that sounded way cool with new baseball cards fluttering within it's spokes :boxing2:

I like the "joking" comments and car options, but the request is for my 78 year old mother-in-law who has had 2-3 bad incidences with her Cadillac with a the fob and now she is afraid to drive it and wants to go back to a car with a key ignition.

So that is the reason for the question, " how many years back would we have to go to find a car, Honda CRV in particular or a NissanSUV, that still has a key ignition?" Does anyone know for sure?

Thanks for the information Kevin and Luci.

A visit to your local Honda/Nissan dealer parts counter will answer your question definitively. His resources include all part catalogs and expert mechanics at the shop.

We have a 2015 Honda CRV that opens and starts with a key. Not all the 2015 CRVs were keyless. Don't know about the 2016s.

2016 RAV4 XLE has a key ignition, Hybrid version has the button. Not a Honda, but still a reasonable choice.
