Amen and amen. We both felt like we knew him here at our house.

:sad: I met Mr. Palmer once; a true gentleman.

What's so strange is today while watching the Philly blowout of the Steelers, Phil Simms and Jim Nance said we know of one big Steelers fan who's watching this game in Pittsburgh, that's Arnold Palmer.

In 1962 when I was 12, Arnold Palmer opened a Golf School in St. Petersburg, my hometown. In the newspaper they said Mr. Palmer will be there today to cut the ribbon at 4pm. My dad and I were there early and 4:00 came and went. They handed everyone an 8x10 glossy b/w photo of Arnold and said he would be signing the photos. Now everyone was getting real excited. It started out like a sunny warm day like most Florida days, but this was in the winter. By 5pm it was pitch dark and getting chilly and most of us were in T-shirts and shorts and was a couple of hundred people standing in the dark in a shopping center parking lot. They announced a couple of times that Mr. Palmer is still coming, finally about 7pm Arnold arrived and cut the ribbon and then we didn't move. He walked around the parking lot to the line of fans and signed every photo, there must of been 300 people. I still have my autographed photo.

I hadn't heard the sad news. A legend has gone to the other side; I hope there is golf there.
From all reports, he was a real gentleman.

Met Arnold Palmer once at the PGA Senior tour at Bunker Hills outside Minneapolis that was just before they built the TPC. What a true gentleman he was always a smile on his face friendly to all

There will never be another like him...that did so much for his sport. :(

What a gentleman! He will be missed. We saw Arnie in March at Bay Hill (riding around in a golf cart) and saw him many others years too. Always---always had time for the fans.

The face of golf that I grew up with. I remember watching him on a b/w tv with my relatives after a Sunday dinner. Four or five holes of coverage with no replays. We were glued.

A man who did far more for the game and for the people than he ever received. He was giving right to the very end. He will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers for his wife, two children and of course Arnies Army.

A true gentleman, and let's not forget the wonderful Orlando children's hospital in Winnie's name. Such a loss to this world, but his family will carry on with his good works.

Got to see The King, Jack and Tiger walk together at Augusta.

But as far as a class act.................there is no comparison.

We will miss him

We had a great opportunity to meet with Mr. Palmer in his office at Bay Hill.

My uncle used to watch golf religiously and he always admired those who played the game with class!

A true gentleman!

RIP - Arnie
