Because WE don't matter as much as "them". "They" are easy marks so industry panders to them. We're a "tougher sell", and not worth the effort.

It's the same with women, women shop emotionally and emotions are EASY to manipulate, hence, women are targeted by marketers.

Then why IS a "nobody" minority getting top billing over an "old white man" legend?

A. Palmer `s family made the announcement last evening -- a Sunday evening . It did not allow many publications time to give the news a priority placement .
The Marlin`s player was lost in an accident which was announced very early on Sunday morning giving plenty of time for the electronic and print media to react .
Simple as that . I would not read anything more into it .

It's noon and Arnie is gone from Yahoo, scrolled down 20-25 stories...nothing.

Al Sharptons daughter ripping someone off, Jose F, A minority soldier who won't rise for the national anthem, some black lady has to pay for giving some black guy an STD.

Oh...Arnie is back but NOT front page.

A LOT about minorities though.

We're done people, they bred us out, made us irrelevant.

Death panels coming soon. They'll pay for a WHOLE artificial BODY for some minority in prison, organ transplants, etc...but when white grandma at 85 needs an operation to save her life...it'll be denied.

Any death is tragic, especially to friends and families. For many people, including my dad who met Arnold Palmer at a tournament years ago and always told the story with pride. But I think we know, perhaps more than any other group that at his age it's not shocking.

I'm not a baseball fan but I learned a little about Jose Fernandez. He also sounds like someone who made his parents very proud. That a young man dying in a car accident is shocking.

I wouldn't read into who goes first or who is more important. It's more news worthy if you never see it coming.
