Designated Survivor

I just have to give this new T-V series a thumbs-up or more! It has drawn me into it much the same way "24" did. It's more than Keifer Sutherland. The story line is great, produces tension, excitement and anticipation of next weeks show. Crazy about it! Anymore fans out there?

But I want to give Keiffer a tan and feed him.. does his face look funky to you?? real pale.. they need a new makeup ..I do enjoy the show once I quit being a dunce about his face !!!!

Excellent.

Remember the days when off the wall stuff was in a movie the usual commentary was, there is no such thing....stuff like that just happens in the movies.

No longer valid!!!!

Looks like another 24 so I will definitely watch.

One theme seems to be similar is someone, in his inner circle, is trying to undermine him.

There is an element missing in this show that I had been yet unable to identify until now and it lessens the believably. The Walking Dead is far more a stretch yet the writing and the acting draws you in. Why because the focus is not on the walking dead but rather people we personally come to know who are facing a catastrophe, like no other, that results in their very survival. we become each one of them. we face their fears, tragedies, etc.

Whereas with Designated Survivor I can also see and hear the director setting the next scene. Sutherland was the man in 24 but he is not believable as a president. This same artificial feel was present with Divorce, Timeless and a few others show that I quickly removed from my DVR . Of note the NCIS series shows all my favorites are now relying on sterotypical and weak writing to a point that one can write the story from the first scene which sets the episode in motion

Let's hope that Designated Survivor is not a motivator and model that some wingnut intends to copy

I liked it in the beginning but it is becoming an effort now. I never was a big KS fan (hate his voice), so that doesn't help. The storylines are getting beyond believable, it is hard to care for any of the characters. Maybe they need a pet to keep me interested? Bring back West Wing!

Did West Wing have a pet??

I agree some of the shows on now have serious problems with suspending disbelief but then you look at real life in December of 2016 and....
