The Villages Public Safety Department with District Administration are monitoring Hurricane Matthew. Part of the preparedness plan for the District involves the removal of gate arms. When wind conditions are predicted to become strong, the gate arms will be removed. During this time, we ask the residents to use extreme caution when traveling through or around the gates. When conditions improve, gate arms will be replaced to normal operations.
Pending further movement by Hurricane Matthew and potential impact to The Villages, there may be closings of facilities and activities. We, again, are monitoring closely and will update you through the media, the District website, and E-notification. Should closings be necessary, it will be for the safety of both ours staff and residents. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but, your safety is our utmost concern.
