Best way to humanely get a gecko out of home in The Villages?
 

Get a medium size tropical fish net, also have about a 12 by 12 inch flat piece of corrugated cardboard. When it's out in the oped drop the fish net over it. Put the cardboard on the floor and slowly move the net over the cardboard.
Don't panic if it looses its tail. The little guy is fine. That's a genetic defense/survival mechanism. The predator gets the tail. (It continues to move after coming off to keep the predator busy) as he makes his escape.

Drop a wet dish towel on them. The weight of the towel keeps them from escaping. Sloly bunch it together trapping them inside. Don't be surprised if you have to shake the towel to get the critter off.

Wow, you only have one!

The anoles (not geckos) here carry salmonella and parasites. It is not a good idea to allow dogs or cats to eat them.

I chase them into a corner and grab them. Their teeth are serrated(and small of course) and they may try to bite you but they can't break your skin.

If you can spray it with windex it stuns it for about a minute or so and you can pick it up and take it outdoors. It will run away in a couple of minutes. Works great.
