Does anyone know if the Recreation centers have reopen yet?
Same goes with the golf courses.

Daughter and I went to Ceramics class at Laurel Manor today and on the way in the golf cart noticed huge piles of palm fronds and debris already gathered for pick up by the wonderful mechanisms of The Villages that I love.

Husband returned cheerfully just now from playing 18 holes.

The Villages Watch is reinstalling the gates on our village.

Order is restored to our universe.

Frankly, the Daily Sun and worse, districtgov.org are useless. Over 48 hours after posting a notice that things would be closed on Friday and continue to visit Village Community Development Districts for additional updates and NO UPDATES.

I am continually disappointed by the lack of timely communication by our district government. It's like their business model is "go knock on the rec door and see if anyone is home."

So people showed up at the pool for water aerobics this morning, only to find that it WASN'T open because it hadn't been inspected yet.

I can appreciate the need to make sure things are in working order, what I cannot appreciate is failing to provide even minimal information on the status of things in The Villages.

And don't tell me to sign-up for email notifications from districtgov.org. I am and haven't seen anything from them in the past couple of days.

How difficult in this day and age is it to have a real-time update system which shows the status of what's working in The Villages?

I think some of it is priorities and they set theirs. You won't always be on that list. Go knock on the door.....or do you have so many "important" things to do? I agree with billaur, someone is in a bad move :)

Property has been destroyed and lives have been lost, and some worry if the damn rec center and excercise class is open...

Since the district offices were closed too, who's there to do the update? I think before putting bathing suit on and gathering up all the needed items for aerobics and driving over there, I would have just called the rec center. I don't think it's unreasonable to assume a couple or three days might be needed for cleanup, restoring the furniture, pool lanes, etc. it takes time and personnel.

Government can't live with them can't live without them. Actually The Villages government reacts faster and better than our federal government, does not abuse taxpayer money and it employees are not over paid and they can be fired.
