Yard service

I was looking for someone to pull weeds
in flower beds...no big deal
just pull a few weeds .
Quoted price.... $25/ hr.
they said it would take 2 hours. I did myself, took 25 minutes.
Are you kidding....are we that stupid?
an elementary school teacher doesn't make that kind of money with 4 years of college.

Good for you. You have solved your own problem. However extending that job to two or three hours is back breaking work and well worth 25 bucks an hour or more. We do our own, but stop after the pain over takes it. When Advil doesn't work anymore, we will have to hire it done and will be grateful to pay someone who is not above doing it. An Elementary teacher would hurt her back from pulling weeds. I was and I have. AND nothing seems to hold the weeds back. They return again and again........

[Gracie call me, for $25, I'm your little weed puller for life.

After you've got those pesky weeds cleared out, be sure to put down some weed preventer (Preen or something similar). Keeps them at bay pretty well for 3-4 months.

That is what it says on the container and it does...but they will return............and they are sneaky. The grass crawls s l o w l y under the edging while we are sleeping. The leaves biodegrade into the rock that we put down to keep out the weeds and little seeds sprout in the new soil formed among the rocks. It is a conspiracy.........:ohdear:

I'm a sno bird & have been using Fairview Farms on 301 north of the Villages.
I've used them for the past 3 yrs. to spray the weeds in my flower beds.
They come once a month & charge me $14.00 per month & when I get back by Nov. 1 my flower beds look great! I'M A SATISFIED CUSTOMER!

Round Up is an excellent weed killer, but it also kills everything else it touches - beneficial nematodes in the soil, bees, butterflies, you name it. I'm a self professed tree hugger so I just cannot bring myself to use Round Up. However, my otherhalf uses it on the driveway pavers after dark when all the flying critters have gone home!

I use it on weeds in driveway or sidewalk, but not in planting areas. It will adversely impact your plants...even those further away from the spray area than you might think.

I speak from experience. Just ask my wife. :)

Sounds cheap. Try Dean's at $45 per hour.
