What banks have most ATMs scattered around The Villages?

We'll be moving down to our house in TV before too long (counting down the days!) and I'm wondering which banks have the most ATMs scattered around. We currently bank with Wells Fargo and see they are there, but only in a couple of locations. We see BB&T, Chase and what seems like quite a few Citizen's First Banks when looking at Google's maps. Any opinions on this?

Thanks in advance for any helpful replies!

Citizens first has ATMs at all their banks - as well as at most neighborhood postal stations. There is not a bank that is even close in terms of the # of ATMs.

Citizens First has ATMs at all of their bank locations, Publix stores, and at quite a few mail stations throughout The Villages. Keep in mind, when travelling out of town, you can't use a Citizens First debit card at any ATM unless it's part of the Presto network. I've only found those at Publix stores.

It sounds like I just might have to stop in and open an account at Citizens while I'm down. With all that's been happening in the news with Wells Fargo, I had somewhat planned to leave them anyway. Thanks!

What's worked for most of us is two banks -- Citizen's First for local, a major bank such as BofA or Chase while traveling. The nice thing about Citizen's is no fees.

And enjoy the free popcorn while you are there.

I've been with "Wells Fargo" (the quotes are because of all the mergers) for over 30 years. There are enough locations in TV. As mentioned by another poster............can't beat a big bank when traveling. I'm happy with WFargo.

What do you use cash for these day? If you use cash you're losing lots of $$ in rewards by not using cash back credit cards, also if cash is stolen-its gone credit card liability is $50.00

Don't worry, at closing they're give you a Citizens account with temporary checks. The Villages owns Citizens Bank. I use Sun Trust because we had them in Maryland, so my accounts and deposits were already in use a year in advance. There are Sun Trusts in Wildwood, on 466, on 441 and inside the 441 Walmart and throughout the USA.

USAA Banking and Insurance

Anyone who has ever served in the military or has a relative who has served should at least check out USAA for banking and Insurance. When established they were open to only officers, but have been open to all ranks for several years now. Based upon my service, my children, siblings, parents and in-laws all became eligible. No ATM fees at any banks ATM. They even have a no fee, cash back American Express credit card.

I have used them for all of my insurance needs for 40+ years and now receive about $1,000 total in rebates each year. I have called GEICO to see how much they can save me and once they find out I am with USAA they won't even take the time to give me a quote.

1-800-531-8722 is the number.

You will pay a local fee when using a USAA ATM/Debit card at a citizen bank ATM. USAA will refund up to 15 dollars in local ATM fees. Using cash back options in stores cuts down on ATM useage. I have always gotten my fees from ATM's back and broke even. I do like USAA

That's interesting. We closed remotely last year and apparently missed out on a number of things by not being there in person!

Interesting, was this with a new home purchase or become a recent practice? We purchased an existing home through The Villages Reality and was not given a Citizens account.

It was a new home closing in 2011 at the Villages Closing Office at Lake Sumter Landing. The office that's sort of across the street from Panera Bread at the McLin Burnsed Office. The same woman who takes your photo for the ID and gives you your mail box key, gate card and all the other peripherals, gave us the account, checks and a Citizens Key Chain. I still have the key chain with my gate card attached, makes it easier to find.
