Free TV Reception

I put a $33 digital amplified antenna in the attic pointed toward Orlando. Over 60 channels in HD clearer than cable. I deleted 30 of the shopping, Spanish, religion channels and now have enough channels to watch. You get all the sub channels of the major networks like 6-1, 6-2,6-3 of CBS with movies, music etc..Run it on 4 TVs.FREE I kept one HD digital box from Bright house so I can still get AMC,TNT ESPN on the one big screen TV. Just for your INFO. I do live on higher ground in back of Bonify Country Club.:pepper2:

Can you provide the make/model of the antenna, I have been toying with doing this but have not seen anything from a fellow DIYer.

Make is jeje model WA-2608. It is about 2x3 feet. Put it on 1 inch PVC screwed to rafter. $31.95 from Amazon. Also has a remote motor rotator. Is suppose to be good for 150 miles so if pointed to Tampa could probably even pull in there but no need to rotate it because you get enough channels from Orlando.

I got mine from Walmart....like $ 35, also so has a ele. motor ,150 mile range, comes with cable wire 50ft. I installed mine up in the attic also, ran the cable down to the cable /sprinkler box, found bed room cable and put a coupler fitting to ant.cable, and plug in at bed room wall cable ,works great.

I bought a $12 antenna from Best Buy, didn't put it in the attic, got no reception whatsoever, but it looks like I saved about $25. And, I still get a great picture on Fox News and the Golf Channel using my Comcast service.

Back in May of 2015, Villages AV recommended "Antennas Direct DB8e" ($128. at Amazon.) I installed one in my attic and it works fine, but no idea how it compares to the others mentioned here that are much cheaper.

Are the available channels UHF or VHF or both? I plan to do something similar next week for my 3rd TV. The other two are on cable.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, how did you screw the PVC to the rafter. Can you give me a bit more detail....thinking about doing the same thing.

Go to the link below to learn which stations are available to you. Remember, in The Villages we're close to the limits of reception (from Orlando)
