ac?? dc? cart?
 

I am definitely wanting to purchase an Electric cart they speak of AC motors in DC motors what are the pros and cons of each?

my club cart is a dc motor and going up a hill a little bit slower than my friends ez go ac motor.

I have a DC but will go to AC when it's time to change.

i am big guy so i am sure will will really slow down with me

The AC motor has more torque, will not stall out, and doesn't have brushes to wear out. New forklifts have ac motors, you can put the forks against a wall, hit the gas, and it will smoke the tires. A dc motor would stall, not that I recommend doing that!

I have DC. Lose about 1/3 or my speed going up hill. Don't know if I would pay extra for an AC motor but if the costs difference does not bother you I would go AC.

We have a 2010 EzGo RXV with an AC motor and the speed is consistent both up and down hills. We like it well enough that if it were an option we'd happily pay for it. it also doesn't seem to be affected by weight. Our cart does the same speed with a second person aboard.
