Where to get a new pool cue?

We're moving to our house in The Villages in a few months (yay!). One of the past-times I hope to re-engage in is shooting pool. I haven't done it in years and was never worth a tinker's dam at it, but I'd like to try for the sociability of it if nothing else. I figure it's best to bring your own stick to the game and am not sure where in or around The Villages I might acquire a new one (other than being down there when a classified for a used one comes up in this forum).

Any advice where a seriously untalented pool shootin' wannabe might get his mitts on an OK pool cue and supplies (case, chalk, etc.) for a reasonable price?

Also, is the felt on the tables in TV all one color? Or should I be getting chalk in various colors to go with wherever I might end up poking that little white ball around?

Thanks in advance for any help, advice or even humorous comments!

Try Marion Market for the cue. Chalk is provided at the Rec centers. No need to supply.

I have seen them there as well. When I was young I shot quite a bit of pool and have played around a bit since being in TV.

The tables are SUPER NICE. The cues on hand are all straight and the felt rolls fast...could not ask for better pool halls (and no one checks to see what is in your thermos).

Is this the Market of Marion that's up north of The Villages off of 441? I will give them a try. Thanks, all!

Billiards.com is a good online store to buy a cue or anything else related to pool.

The Villages Billiards Club has a Pro Shop. They have cue sticks and other billiards items in stock. They also have a catalog that you can order from. The Club has a "dealers" account and can give you some very good prices. Larry Russo @ 352-633-5271 or 240-462-3438 or email Larry at lrussso20@comcast.net.

Where do I find The Villages Billiards Club? I thought most clubs were at the various rec centers and none likely to hold a retail presence. I do like to keep my spending local and this sounds like one way to do that.
