Have you increased the speed of your golf cart?
Thinking of adjusting the governor on our 2016 Yamaha golf cart to get us a few more miles per hour.
Are most people leaving them as is from the factory or are y'all adjusting them a bit? |

I bought a used Gem Cart 2 yrs ago and it was already adjusted.

I say ,go for it ....and see what happens????

Do some research before you do this, possible downsides:
1. If (or when) you have an accident, you may find you do not have insurance coverage. 2. If the police find your cart is capable of greater then 20 mph, big fines, court date, points, tickets, etc. You are driving an unregistered Low Speed Vehicle. 3. You are retired, slow down enjoy the ride. Finally, you can do a search on this site, there have been several cases reports of the above fines and court appearances, etc. JMHO |
I want the fast zero to 60 (20 mph) over the faster cart. Its what makes carts faster, acceleration. If you can, get that tuned. It would make the small hills fun.

I was just thinking 22-23 mph.
|
Is the risk worth the benefit? If you feel your cart is too slow, maybe something is off and you aren't doing 20 (it just says it is).

I would rethink it although in my 4+ years here I have noticed more carts go faster than 20mph than not. Especially on the multimodal paths. On the streets they seem to be a little more reserved about their speed, (the key word it little). Anyway it is ultimately your decision to risk the consequences noted in earlier responses.
