Roman shower?
 

We just purchased home with a Roman shower. Love the roomy feel But am cold soon as I turn off water. Anyone find a clever solution to this problem??

During winter months when it's a bit chillier, temporarily hang a spring rod with shower curtain to keep heat in until you dry off.

Some have installed heat lamps in the ceiling of their Roman shower. I understand they work well and are not real expensive. We love our Roman shower and I just turn up the heat a bit 20 minutes prior to taking my shower and find this is enough on a 40 - 45 degree morning in The Villages. After all the temps don't get around freezing that often in TV.

Before our house was built, I asked people on this forum if they liked having a Roman shower. Almost of them loved that type of shower, but admitted it was cold when the water was turned off.

Based on that comment, and the fact that a Roman shower in our Laurel Oak model takes up a good deal more space, we decided to have the standard shower with a door. Our designer said we were the first people to not want a Roman shower in a Laurel Oak.

As it turns out, we love the shower. It has twice the room we had in our shower in Virginia and it stays nice and warm after the water is turned off.

I bought a cheap little ceramic heater and put it on the counter. I warm up the room before I go in and it is fine. Cheap solution I think I spent about $20. I only need it in the winter.

Ditto the ceramic heater used it in NC/doesn't get that cold here

Take a shower in the 2nd bathroom on cool days?

That will work too. Whoa, are becoming a bunch of wimps or what? LOL. I remember playing golf with temps in the 40's (if the wind wasn't blowing too hard) and thinking it was a nice golfing day.

Roman shower is a bit easier to keep clean than an enclosed one. Our walk in shower in the house we built years ago had two shower heads. Fun!

Has anyone tried adjusting air/heating vents such as installing ecovent? Ecovent

Not sure a door would work as there are holes in the arches above shower. ? Any other suggestions?

I turn the heat on 10 minutes before I shower. Did it this morning I was warm.

In a Roman Shower, the towel rack is two feet away from you. Grab your thirsty towel and wrap yourself up in it; dry off in the shower. I do this and am never cold. I hope I never have to go back to a shower door or curtain.
