Thanks for the heads-up! I have always enjoyed his books, starting with "The Andromeda Strain" way back when. If it's any good, a movie is sure to follow.

There might be a reason why it was not published. I am thinking of Harper Lee's sequel to To Kill a Mockingbird which kind of stunk IMHO. She did not want that published I believe. Go Set a Watchman - Wikipedia

I tend to agree that stories should sometimes be left unpublished, but who knows. He had a good amount of quality work and if his wife is vouching for it, maybe it is good.
