do you love your vacuum cleaner?

I want a new vacuum? Due to the cost, I want a good one? The one advertised everyplace is a dyson for $599. I want one that is light weight, has attachments on the main body to get edges. Tell me about yours yea or nay. Thanks

Walmart has a Dyson in their Sunday ad for $249 regular $399, on their website they show the Summerfield store has it in stock.

We own the Bissell Bagless Rewind. It's currently $129 at Kohls, but they often have discount coupons around. We picked up that unit about this time last year on sale for $99 and we had a 30% coupon, best vacuum for $70 we ever bought. It's held up good since we owned it and works great. Before that we had 2 Hoover bagless uprights and neither one lasted much longer than a year or two.

We have a Dyson vacuum "root cyclone technology". I find it too heavy.

I researched and found the Shark Rotator Professional NV501 at around $200 plus or minus. Had it for about two years no problem. Great sturdy machine with great cleaning power. There are versions with different options. The basic machine is an upright with great swivel for corners. Liftaway unit for reaching high areas with vacuum only. Lift off canister for disposing of the product of your labor.

I have the Shark and absolutely love it. It is fairly lightweight, has lots of tools and incredible suction. It also has a very long cord so I can plug it in once and do my entire Villa.

I have the Shark and love it. It's lighter than Dyson and I really like the lift away feature. I can easily use it to clean blinds, lamp shades, etc. I hope this helps - it's only my opinion.

I am in the market for a new vacuum and just this week I watched a commercial on the two, Dyson and Shark, side by side and I was really impressed with the Shark cleaning ability. I am also impressed with the way Shark are fighting to get as good as, if not better, results than Dyson. Could be tempted.

We had a Shark that I really liked, but it only lasted a couple of years. Now we have two Dysons--a carpet model that will suck your brains out, and an Animal Stick that hangs on a charging station and is my most treasured possession. Well... maybe the dog is (or my husband), but he's the reason for the Dysons. That would be the dog, not the husband.

We have found for best all around cleaning and value Shark is a great buy.

I have the Dyson V6.

Works great if you don't have a lot of carpet. It is rechargeable so if you use it on max (like I do) the battery drains faster. I once had a problem with one of the filters.

I would buy Dyson again, I like the company (I have a Dyson Cool fan on my desk) but I would get one that plugs in.

If money isn't an object, I think Kirby makes the best vacuum cleaners but its very expensive and uses a bag.

We really like our Dyson Ball Animal Upright. We bought it in 2004 when we moved to St. Louis and HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEM with it. I thought the price was outrageous when we bought it but it's still going after 13 years so it's been well worth it.

We have a Dyson rechargeable V6, cordless pet vac, best vacum we have ever owned, light weight powerful, easy to clean brush, very good attachments, we have a designer home, all tile except 3 bedrooms, vacum whole house on single charge, if you want to use Max setting on carpet will have to recharge. Great engineering Paid $350. We have a golden retriever and use vac every day sometimes twice.

Our choice is Dyson. It was a gift. It's been more than 10 years and going strong. For $7 you can get Consumer Report on the computer, they will advise you perfectly. Good luck.

I have a cordless rechargeable Dyson, I didn't buy the best but I also didn't buy the cheapest. Mine was $399. I love the power of it and the ease of not having to plug it in and chase the cord around. However, the down sides to this expensive vacuum is: Doesn't hold a charge very long, maybe about 15, possibly 20 minutes on a full charge and the dirt cup is very small, you need to empty it often, especially if you have pets. I mainly use it for vacuuming up cat litter and spot cleaning of the carpet.
