Keep your geradkids close

Are we becoming a haven for these lowlifes? I'd like to know if there is some kind of formal protest we can lodge against this trend...

Another sex offender has moved into the Village of Winifred.

Jonathan David Conway, 27, on Tuesday moved into a home at 421 Kingston Way, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. He moved here from Lacey, Wash.

Conway was convicted on Dec. 10, 2009 on two counts of rape of a child.

In October, 39-year-old Jonathan David Pentz moved into a home on Sherwood Street in the Village of Winifred. He had been convicted of a sex offense and armed robbery. You can read more about him HERE

Lenient sentencing allows this lowlife to get here. If he had only passed photos on the internet of kids he would be in prison still.

ShabbyChick 12-11-2016 03:05 PM

Perhaps The Villages should look into amending the Association By-Laws to prevent sexual offenders from living here.

Before you start handing out torches and pitchforks, you should do a couple of things.

First, KNOW EXACTLY what happened in the case. Was it anymore than a guy having underage - but consensual sex and being caught by her parents?

Second, Google for the sexual offenders in The Villages. You just may find friends and neighbors on the list. I found one that I never would have suspected. Turns out he had sex with an underage hooker and got caught.

How could that be accomplished?...especially when the Villages has no by-laws. What law would permit that discrimination?

We cannot by law do anything about their living here, but we don't have to like it. And is having sex with an underage hooker an excuse or an "atta boy"?

Cause so far I haven't ever met anyone who has done that...as far as I know. Most of us have worked hard and sacrificed so we can place ourselves in neighborhoods that don't house ex cons. But here we are, and there they are...so as the O.P. says...watch out for your grandchildren. BUT...there is NO place safe in this world anymore.

On that same token, let's seek out and expel from The Villages anyone convicted of shoplifting, vandalism, liquor law violations, disorderly conduct, curfew violations, dui, -no matter at what age they were convicted. Just wonder how many of those who project that they are as pure as the driven snow would actually have to admit committing one of these crimes when in their youth. Do not judge others, you do not walk in their shoes.

Dr Winston O Boogie jr 01-02-2017 08:08 PM

Out of 130,000 residents I've seen less than a dozen of these offenders registered here.
Hardly what I call a haven for lowlifes and hardly what I'd call a problem.

I'm not condoning anyone's actions. And I rarely go to church.
I agree, caregivers need to be careful.
But I think I remember a bible lesson on this topic --

But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her."
