Note: they do not use the words allegedly, instead they report it as fact.

And here they talk about the type of reporting and how the claim was false and news medias reported it as fact.

It's ALL propaganda...everything. EVERYONE is trying to sell you something. A product or an idea... They've been studying human psychology for a LONG time, they KNOW how to push our buttons. And they DO. Turn off "the media", it's just lies and deception...lightly sprinkled with morsels of truth. Believe NOTHING...

CHANGE the people you hang out with. There are a bunch of successful, funny, Republican people who live here who have NEVER been in trouble with the law, have no issues and have a very positive attitude.

I would be willing to bet a beer that the guy who took a loaded rifle into the VA Clinic is a Republican. Ditto for the guy who fired his pistol 38 times into the house of a neighbor lady.

Of course, there are successful, funny Republicans here. Same for Democrats. Political views do not make the entire person. There are great people on both sides of the political spectrum. There are also complete jerks on both sides. I hang around with the great ones - both Republican and Democrat. Steer clear of all jerks!

Republicans commiting crimes and specifically with guns is the tiniest of minorities, check the news and see who the perpetrators are.... o wait fake news.

So please explain what your point might be.

Since he is a Vet and served his country, you may be right. He may very well be a registered Republican, or Independent. Did you have a point?

Point is that both Republicans and Democrats have some on the fringes.

On a social level, do you honestly care which political party your friends belong to? My social groups don't discuss politics heavily and we all get along great.

I have friends who are veterans. Some are Democrats, some are Republicans. I am a Democrat and a veteran.

What is your point?
