This may be a stupid question but tell me,
 

Why are they closing dealerships?

Are dealers operated at the expense of GM or Chrysler?

If sales are low, is the wisest thing to do, reduce your commission sales force?

How are profitable dealerships a burden on GM or Chrysler?

How are unprofitable dealerships a burden on GM or Chrysler?

Perhaps somebody wiser than I can tell me what economic reasons justify closing dealerships.
