Looking for a Trusted Cat Vet
We have a 14 year old cat that had a blood clot just prior to our return to The Villages after Thanksgiving. Our vet up north had her on a prednisone prescription, which is almost gone. However, our cat has gone lethargic and not eating. Hoping to find a good vet down here to help her, as she has always been a very healthy cat, up until this clot episode. Any suggestions? We live on the northern side of The Villages, but willing to travel for a good cat vet. Thank you in advance.

Dr Merritt 352-753-5333 off of 441 in Lady Lake. *** You must wean them off of pred. Do not let him run out ***

I really like Dr. Valdez at Park Heights. He's in Fruitland Park right by Nearlee New Furniture. He's not the cheapest vet around but he keeps up to date, has good credentials and a fully equipped lab. I really like that he won't hesitate to refer you to Gainesville if he feels that's the best course of action.

I have not been to him but I have heard good things about Dr. Porter in Wildwood. He is on my list for doctors when I make my permanent move to TV!

Dr Tim Porter in Wildwood is a wonderful, old fashioned country vet. When I've been in there with our lab, there are always people with cats coming and going. 352-748-6348. Take copies of all recent vet stuff and any shot records.

I second Dr. Porter. He is fair and won't overcharge. He has office cats there so he must like cats.

We use the Healthy Pet the Mobile Vet. She, Dr. Smith is good and comes to our house. Saves the cats the trauma of a ride to the vets. 1 352 470 9537
