Worst Chinese Food Ever !!

My wife went o the Evergreen to pick up some special dishes for my birthday.
1) got a whole steamed Fish @ $22.00 one bite went into the disposal
2) steamed dumplings--totally tasteless
3) wide noodles- into the disposal
4)wife save the Peking duck--totally bland
$67.00 for take out --total garbage--stay away from this joint--go to KOYAME--even though its on the other side of the Villages

Only good thing to say is never again-

Koyame is the only place I will go. Have tried all of the others including the one in Colony. It seems they need to step it up a notch on the flavor. I find their food tasteless. It is like the sauces are watered down. Maybe I just like mine a little spicy as they call it at Koyame.

To be exact:
steamed dumpling (pork) $5.95
steamed whole fish $22.00
peking duck $13.95
Hot $ sour soup $2.50
Chow Ho (beef) $8.95

Came to $57.08 include Tax--wife gave $10.00 tip--never again

Try the Shang Hai Chinese at Mulberry. Delicious!

The duck just hit the disposal, too

Koyame for us, owners are from NY. We were used to Joyce Chen's in Boston, nothing like that here.

We have never experienced any food that was consistently inedible--my wife tried to save the duck-all I can say once shame on you--twice shame on me-its not going to happen again

Honestly folks--give this place a wide berth--especially if there are better places--any place will be better than the Evergreen

Believe it or not, the worst Chinese food I ever had was in China---9 straight days of the same crap for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The meat would not pass FDA inspection for dog food. The veggies were at least 3 days past peak and often brown instead of green. It was the only vacation I ever lost 12 pounds on.

I agree. Chinese food here is a disaster. I don't see why a community of 100K people can't attract and support a decent Chinese restaurant it doesn't have to be fancy

OP, you might try China Gourmet at Lake Denton Plaza. We have not tried it yet as it hasn't been open very long. I sort of expect it to be similar to the one in Colony which I wouldn't grade more than average at best. But worth a try.

Koyame is well worth the visit!! Love their food!! You won't be disapointed!!!

We stopped in and ate at the China Buffet by Publix on 466 the other night; IT WAS NASTY; no going back there. This place probably won't appeal to some of you, but we've never have a bad meal at Panda Express by Home Depot.

Then again, in Hong Kong there was that basket of dead whole, fully-feathered chickens outside the rear of a restaurant in 90 degree temp. I will never eat chicken in Hong Kong/China again.
