golf cart fiberglass cracking underneath seat
My 2009 Yamaha golf cart has developed a problem underneath the seat. There is a curved ledge made of fiberglass (?) that has cracked all the way through in 2 places. I have glued it, but it didn't hold. Has anyone had this problem before, and did you find a repair/solution?
Thanks in advance. |
Had it happen with a par car. Go to automotive store and buy fiberglass repair kit. Wal-Mart might carry one too. Use the repair strips following directions. Repair on the underside. I'm a woman and did this myself. Easy cheap and works great. Never opened up again and that was five years ago. You can do this.

Had my 2014 Yamaha taken care of at Village Golf Carts. There is a documented problem from manufacturer when a custom seat is installed. They installed a "fix" that consisted of a metal bracket under the fiberglass. Repair completed at no charge.

Thanks for the hints. Will call Villages carts and see what they say. If no luck there, will try the 'fix it myself' kit. thanks again.........Rose

I agree with the fiberglass repair kit, have used these several times in the past, on cars, and they work great. Use gloves, as this is a messy project, pay attention to the temperature, as this effects the hardening time a lot.
