Is there a public library in TV?

Is there a public library with access to computers? My laptop just died! :Screen_of_Death:

The library on Parr Drive has open computers and printers. Not sure what time they open.

The Savannah Center has a room with PC's for use by residents.

Expanding on the library question: In Florida, public libraries are funded and managed by the county.

Since The Villages takes in part of three counties, are residents limited to only the libraries in their county or are they allowed full use (including checkout) at other nearby libraries, even if not in their home county?

As an avid reader and library user, I plan to make use of whatever is available to me, once I know what that is.

The Mark Twain Library is open to all Villagers, irregardless of what county they live in. Sumter County Library will require proof that you live in Sumter County to get a free library card. I don't know if you can pay for a card if you con't live in Sumter County. Lake County wanted to charge me for a Lake County Library Card becasue I live in Sumter Copunty. I passed on that golden opportunity. The Sumter County Library System lets you reserve books online from any library in their system. You tell them where you want to pick up your book (usually in TV but it doesn't have to be) and they will call you on the phone when your book is available for pickup. About the Marion County Library System, I have no clue becasue I have never visited one of their facilities.

Lake county and Marion county have reciprocal agreements. If you have a library card in one, you can get a reciprocal card in the other, Sumter has no reciprocal agreement. If you live in the Villages you can join the Villages library in Sumter county. If you live in Sumter county, you must pay for a library card in Lake and Marion county.

Where is The Villages Library in Sumpter County?

The library is at the intersection of Pharr Drive and Belvedere just off 466. It is just beside the Villages High School.

Take CR 466 to Belvedere Blvd (across from Southern Trace and CVS).
Turn south on Belvedere and go to Parr Drive .. turn left. Parr Drive is the first street you come to on Belvedere.

The library is on the corner of Belvedere and Parr Drive .. the driveway is on Parr.

Carm, I'm in the same shoes you are -- no more laptop.

Here's what I've found:

The library on Parr will let you use the computer for 45 minutes if someone is waiting, unlimited if no one's waiting. They're open late on Thursday evenings.

Savanah's puters automatically shut off after one hour of use regardless if all 10 puters are being used and people are waiting or you're the only one there.

Mark Twain's have a 30-minute usage if someone is waiting.

Now, if someone has an old laptop they don't need ..... ;)

Lake County charges $40 for a card if you are from Sumter county.
