Gulf fishing Any Charter Recommendations
 

We went fishing near the mouth of the Crystal River with the K5 charter Co., 3 people, $350 for 4 hours and caught 1 small fish. Is this normal for this time of year? Can anyone give us the name of a fishing charter Co. that you could recommend located on FL's west coast not too far from Crystal River that takes you into the gulf. Tnx

There was a Groupon several weeks ago for High Octane Fishing Charters.
After a few very cordial emails with Capt. Nick, we booked a trip for April, when he believed it would be more rewarding than now.
Can't really recommend him until we see how it goes then.

Caught enough fish to make it an enjoyable experience and look forward to doing it again.

Good equipment and boat roomy enough to comfortably accommodate 3 guests.

If I were going deep sea fishing in the Gulf, I would use one of the charter services working out of John's Pass in the St. Petersburg area.

One of the most well known, for decades, is Hubbard's Marina at John's Pass. They have been a family owned business since 1928. In addition to fishing, they have a restaurant, shopping, and party boat trips. (Sunset cruise, dolphin watching, etc.)

When I was a teenager I used to listen to Capt. Hubbard on the radio when he gave his daily fishing report of the success that his charter boats had, and what kind of fish they caught.
