Need reputable hearing aid store for hearing test and new hearing aid.

No actual experience but research Costco. You might not have to be a member for this service.

I used the villages health hearing specialist for my hearing test, going back in a few weeks for second test and final recommendations. While they have access to hearing aids, they appear to be independent, and I will be free to shop around. NOTE: the villages health specialists accept traditional Medicare and supplement insurance, so anyone can use them. I have had hearing tests for my entire career (work requirement), and the one I gort was by far more extensive then anything I had received in the past. Call any one of the villages health centers for an appointment.

ive been wearing HA's for 6yrs. and have upgraded 3 times....I now go to Express Hearing off of Wedgewood Dr by 466....ask for Al he takes the time needed and listens to what you want....also if you need HA's they have a large selection of different brands to choose from... there are many good HA's it is usually the technician listening to how you want to hear things that helps out a great deal...good luck and if you have any questions you can private message me

Liberty brand at Sam's. TRied aids from highly recommended audiologist, three different brands, for three months. Had to return all. Then, a doctor at a social event, suggested Sam's. Have had Liberty brand for over a year, and could not be happier!!

2-4 thousand depending on hearing, as I understood it. Mine were 3, but I bought ins, so came to right at 4 thousand. The other 3 pairs I tried were 4 thousand, without ins.

At those prices I am going to learn how to sign:D

Most if not all hearing aids are incredibly over priced. I had a friend who worked for a hearing aid store fro a while and quit because of the pressure to sell, sell, sell. Many of the people who work in these places have very little experience or training. They get hired, are given a few hours training on how to use the machine and a lot of sales training. They are usually dressed in a white coat so that you think they are qualified.

A hearing aid at it's core is a very simple and inexpensive device. It's really just a miniature microphone, amplifier and speaker. There is no reason for it to cost thousands of dollars except that the companies who sell them want to make ridiculous profits.

Someone recommended to me that I get the Lee Majors Hearing Aids that sell for about $300. I was told that they are basically the same as what you get from the scam artists in white coats.

There was an interesting article in the Daily Sun (I do not think it was an online article) that stated there was a push for the FDA to approve 'generic' hearing aids that you could purchase over the counter and setup your self with an app. The article went on the explain the high cost of traditional hearing aids, there is a very large overhead for the store fronts, the people, the equipment, etc.
