La La Land.

La La Land (2016) - Rotten Tomatoes

Anyone seen this? I am not really big on musicals but this one may be different and I really like the two stars-- Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.

Ryan Gosling - Rotten Tomatoes

Emma Stone - Rotten Tomatoes

Saw it the day of the Golden Globes and loved it. Came out of the theater saying, "Oh, I need to get that soundtrack!".

I went to see it only because it got so many Academy Award nominations, and I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would. It's a must see.

I will probably but the Blu-Ray if it is good when I see it in the theater.

I loved it but two of the women in our group weren't as enthralled as I was. The cinematography was incredible. Acting was great. And I loved the song City of Light and the dancing. The opening sequence was amazing.

My husband & I didn't care for La La Land. It has a weak story line. I liked the opening musical number, but not a big fan of the rest. Enjoyed Emma Stone's singing. The movie is not all bad, but overall unimpressive. Hidden Figures was a much better movie in my opinion.

Finally got around to seeing it at the Rialto and enjoyed most of it quite a bit. Will probably buy it on Blu-Ray. :BigApplause:

I would not call it a deep movie though like some of the others from the Award Season and certainly those that have won in previous years but some of those are so serious that you only want to watch them once or so.

I wasn't wanting to see a musical, but with the awards I figured why not check it out. The opening freeway dance number with none of the main characters set an opening tone that the rest of the movie really didn't have. That being, a lot of musical dancing. The musical part of the film I thought, was Ryan Gossaling piano playing, and I've read he did all his own playing and I was impressed. He's been a favorite actor of mine and he really expanded his abilities with this film. Emma Stone was alright, I had seen them together in Crazy, Stupid Love with Steve Carell and they have good chemistry, so I overlooked her lack of musical ability. Overall I would of cut the opening freeway dance, but anyway gave it a 9, very impressed with the film.

I liked the freeway dance even if the main characters were just in the traffic queue. Maybe, they danced too in the distance but could not spot them. I will take a better look once the Blu-Ray comes out.

I felt it was a mediocre musical with mediocre performances. I think Moana had a better soundtrack even though it was a childrens film.
