Urine Tests

THE JOB - URINE TESTS

(Whoever wrote this one deserves a HUGE pat on the back!)

Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit.

In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem .
What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test.

Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check, because I have to pass one to earn it for them?
Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet.

I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their butt, doing drugs, while I work. . . .
Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?

I guess we could title that program, ' Urine or You're Out '.

Something has to change in this country -- and soon!!!!!!!

It's a great idea- but think of the extra costs involved!

Not sure the costs would be more than offset by the fraud drop. Still, an interesting concept worth investigation and possible pilot testing.

What costs? ObamaCare will foot the bill!

What a great idea.....fail a test and you don't get 'paid'. We all have or are working Hard for our $$$$$. Nothing is freee..... With as many tests that the state would be given, I would think the cost could/would be less. Perhaps those that need to take the test pick up the tab. How do we get this going?

What an inventive idea.... And I can't believe anyone questioning the cost when its so obvious that the cost saving would be huge....

I cannot believe the heartlessness of you people. There are a multitude of different people on various government programs whereby they receive checks. And as such, there are a multitude of different reasons why these individuals might be consuming products that would lead to a positive urine test. These people did not introduce crack cocaine into American society, the CIA did. These people do not want to take drugs. It's forced on them by society. Sure, some people work one or even two jobs ---- when do they have time for drugs? But put yourself in a situation where you have absolutely nothing to do but sit around the house all day watching sports on your big screen. You get bored, man. Yeah, booze helps, but it's sloppy and the buzz just ain't that much. You're in that situation, you'd be kicking back with a little hit now and then yourself.

Urine test!!! Ha, just send me the check.

This idea has been bantered around for a couple of years. Like video cameras at traffic lites, it's something liberal judges have prevented. Depends on the state. All we can do is bug our state representatives, because with the likes of Pelosi and Barbara (call me senator) Boxer, there ain't no way (as they say) that something will get through the pompous liberals now representing us. (Is that an oxymoron?)

a good idea ..... BUT ....

I resent the fact that there are so many people who have learned to cheat the system by receiving state assistance by fraud !! However, there are many, many individuals who, by virtue of circumstances, are unable to work to support themselves or their families - people with varying degrees of mental illness, bi-polar, ADD, the Autism Spectrum, physical disability, ETC. etc. ETC. and drug consumption in this country is epidemic.

So, how to differentiate between those who are truly in need of assistance (possible drug users) and those who cheat the system (drug users) ???? A dilemma!

Hi Babe,

Not sure what you mean. A drug test reveals the type drug in your system.

I am sure that we can implement the proper safeguards to insure that the urine tests will only detect illegal drugs. With that being said...I say full steam ahead!!!!:crap2:

A pilot program is an interesting and constructive idea. For that reason, it will probably not be considered.

There is no such thing as a drug user who needs help and one who cheats.

A drug user is a drug user! It is understandable to try to rationalize the "good" drug user from the "bad" drug user. Characteristics, behavior, needs are driven by the habit....good or bad.

It is easier to differentiate the good food stamp user and the bad food stamp user. The good one buys food and stuff for the family. The bad buy new cars, cigarettes and booze.

If ya haven't been there to witness any of the above....it is a rude awakening not comprehensible by most good/honest people.
