A Billion Here And A Billion There

Ahh, our spendthrift elected representatives. The Senate added $1.75 billion to the military spending appropriations bill for the continuation of the production of the F-22 Raptor fighter. The Defense Department says they don't want any more of the fighters because they do not meet the performance criteria for the types of wars we're fighting and expect to face in the future. President Obama says he will veto any bill that has this continued spending on the F-22 included (I'll believe that when it happens).

We already have 187 of the jets and not one has flown even one minute in the Iraq or Afghanistan wars. In the meantime we still need more body armor and heavier, armored Humvee-type vehicles to protect our soldiers and marines.

There are lots of articles on this continuous ludicrous behavior by "our 435". How much more proof do we need to decide tho throw them all out on their butts? Here's an article from today's USA TODAY...

This cost-cutting idea is a good one...just so long as it doesn't happen in my district!

What's the big deal? Aren't they spending money (stimulus) to keep people working??? At least they are real jobs and not some phony "Green Jobs" that have paychecks with a government emblem on them.

Show the list for McCain in the last election, or Bush and Kerry for 2004. My guess is that while the names will be a little different, there will still be big hitters on both sides.

What's new? What does it prove? It might even be complementary to Obama to note that he's going to get a healthcare bill passed and tax all those heavy hitters at the big corporations and law firms to pay for it. A lot of good those contributions did them.

It did some of them real good...look at the TARP lists.
