Oleander scale
 

I have beautiful oleanders as a hedge but they have a white scale and some parts are dying. I googled the problem and it suggested applying a horticulture oil. Anyone have any expertise with oleander diseases or pests?

The only thing I spray on my Oleanders is Sevin. You can buy it at Wal Mart, Home Depot, etc. It has taken care of all insects on the plants. I believe in the next few weeks you will see an Oleander Butterfly on and around the plants. These butterflies will eat your plant to the ground so make sure you spray them thoroughly with the Sevin.

Thank you Greenerside. I read about horticulture oil. Wonder if I should try Seven and horticulture oil? I love the oleanders and have a lot of them.

Just took out an Oleander plant covered with orange and black caterpillers. I did spray in the Spring with volck oil. (Not sure of that spelling) Had the same problem last year and just decided that I really didn't like spraying all the chemicals and the foolish thing never blossomed after the first outbreak of caterpillars. So out it came.
