Heavy Traffic

Looking @ the back trying to get thru the St.Charles gate, reminded me of the backups just before the BQE-

They should get a community watch person or a police officer to stop people from waving carts thru--Lt Siemer said its against the law.

Patience Grasshopper. In four weeks the birdies will fly away and the traffic won't be as congested.

How long a wait at St Charles gate? 30 seconds?

Went to Ocala this AM............lot of traffic.
Traveled on I75................lot of traffic.

There was a huge backup this morning going south on St. Charles approaching Buena Vista and those already on Buena Vista southbound and those westbound on 466A. Apparently at the construction site of the new Lowes shopping center, they were paving the new third, or turn lane, in front of the shopping center. Took 15 minutes to go about 200 yards. Instead of turning west on 466A, I just stayed on Buena Vista all the way to Brownwood and traffic was light. If they are putting the top coat on tomorrow, I would avoid going towards Wildwood or Winn Dixie in the morning, or take alternate routes such as Pinellas or go all the way down to 44 and forget going on 466A into Wildwood or the gold dome.

Thanx John--took my wife 15 minutes to go thru the gate--she was late for a class @ MVP Brownwood

Traffic on 446a going west this forenoon was long and slow---backed up to Sumter Grand. Traffic this time of year is dense anyway so allow time when going anywhere. So many new, hesitant drivers especially at the roundabouts.

It is the first day of the month in high-season. Lots of drivers new in town.

I remember our first visit to TV........

When a little golf cart seemed to want to cross in front of my big car, I would instinctively wave them across. OH MY! I received such helpful shouts and direction from those golf cart drivers! :22yikes:

Very jealous. Would much rather sit in your traffic than drive in 6 inches of snow today! It's all a matter of perspective, my friend...Peace out...

the last 2 weeks the traffic sucks!

Heavy traffic? Huge backup? Have you people ever driven in any of our cities, or worse yet, cities in foreign countries? We are spoiled here in The Villages. Traffic goes from almost non existent to moderately light.

My 9 year old granddaughter was visiting from California. They live in Los Altos Hills - between San Francisco and San Jose. We were out and about in The Villages and she looked around puzzled, and said, "Where's the traffic?"

Comparison are always drawn to make people feel better about something

But, I don't live in NYC or Chicago, or Los Angles.....I live here and here the traffic problem grows worse every year and is exacerbated because the tri-counties continues to grow faster than the infrastructure needed.

Apparently the traffic/driving situation must have some truth to it based on the various, and often repeated, threads concerning round abouts, MMP's etc.

I was forced to drive in rush hour traffic while working. It was crazy. But now I can usually schedule my driving time avoiding the congested periods here in The Villages.

Nope. Sorry. Still no real traffic problem in TV. :)

Very few places in TV is the transportation infrastructure even close to being inadequate.
