Cart path to Walmart on 441
 

Can you still get to Walmart on 441 by golf cart?

I did yesterday but don't know how much longer before it's closed. I normally don't use it at all any more since the Wal-Mart on 466 is closer.

Still open.

I don't use it either but some Villagers who only have a golf cart will be disappointed. Hopefully, something will work out for those who find this to be a bit of inconvenience and hardship.

Why are people thinking it's going to be closed? Did I miss something?

Duke Energy has indicated on several occasions they want one of two things, first transfer the property to someone who will take the liability, or two they will close it down. Now they also have indicated they would not close the path as long as there are negotiations with a possible new owner. It was scheduled to close Jan 1st, 2017 and extended to March 2017. The Stonecrest Board has done a large amount of negotiation with Duke and Walmart to try and resolve the problem. Currently the path just seems to be in limbo. I believe its in the Corporate out sight out of mind department looking the other way. However if there is one incident that path will be closed in heart beat.

Marion County is in negotiations with Duke Energy.

That would be great if they took it over. Then maybe they would pave it and take out all the ruts. Its much better then before but the cold patch is starting to have some pot holes. Probably due to the freeze and thaw of winter......:jester: I'd like to see Marion Co. put a cart path up and down 441.
