Batteries for Gas Carts
I was wondering what experience folks have with having to replace the battery in a newer Yamaha gas cart.
Do they tend to last 5 years before needing replacement or what have folks found? Also, if you have replaced one, what types/ brands did you use other than a Yamaha replacement? They appear to be fairly standard Group 24 batteries. Mine is fine, this is just idle curiosity while drinking a beer. |
I had to replace mine after about 5 - 5-1/2 years. The symptom was that I pushed the gas and there was a delay before the engine started. It gradually progressed to I pushed the gas and nothing happened. Got a replacement at Walmart. Group 24F.

Walmart, they tested and evaluated the old battery...then installed the new battery.

Bought mine a SAMS CLUB did it myself. Old one was 4 1/2 years old.

Five years is about the battery limit. Had mine changed at Gordon's Garage in LSL. Reasonable and with a loaner.

If 5 years old you are on borrowed time. Change if before getting stuck.
It cost me $79.00 at Gordans garage. |

Walmart replaced my 5 YO cart battery in about 20 minutes while I shopped. They also rotate tires for $10 (while you shop). |

Testing a car battery with a carbon pile load tester is straight forward. Even Walmart can do it. |
