Odell Circle or loop or whatever it's called

I have questions.

1. What is the traffic like normally?

2. In Summer?

3. Snowbird season?

Can Landscaping effectivly block the road noise?

Have you done it?

How did it work? I need answers. What to do, to do, to do?

I can tell you for sure, 100%, landscaping WILL not

block the noise....it will only affect what you see (or not).

We had originally put in very dense and I mean DENSE fast growing shrubs which did in fact create a "wall". It was great to not have to see the traffic. The noise was unaffected. Eventually TV constructed a 7 foot wall......even better, now that we have a back drop to put plants against. Noise reduction....I'll be generous and speculate a 20% reduction.

There are very few home locations in TV where one can escape, totally, road noise.

What you will find happens is you adjust. You will soon not even hear it except for some red neck truck with blasting duals or a nut case moto cycle trying to break the sound barrier.

If you can see the traffic, you will hear it....you can block the sight, but not the sound.

Btk is correct - you will still hear the noise. We faced the same dillemna when purchasing. We decided to buy an interior lot near the end of a cul-de-sac. We hear no road noise. All the neighbors around us in the back and side have glassed in their lanai's, so we don't hear noise of neighbors either. We put in some thick trees and shrubs which have grown up, so we don't see the neighbors behind us. Odell Circle gets a lot of traffic, particularly during the high season. If you're the type of person that doesn't like noise, I'd think about a different location.

The biggest contributor to traffic noise are trucks. Parts of Odell have seen a large amount of truck traffic in the last few years because of all the construction going on in the area. However, as this area builds out, I expect that a fair amount of the truck traffic will diminish. Yes, there will always be deliveries to houses and trucks used for landscapers, etc. but much of the heavy-duty truck traffic will be shifting to St Charles and other areas in the southwest part of TV.

noise

most of the traffic noise will gone within a few months on odell circle. 95% or better is built out. high traffic will switch to st. charles and beyond

A lot depends on your choice of units.

We have a courtyard villa and there are times the silence is deafening. Having spent the last 5 years in an urban area near DC, the sounds of sirens, traffic, aircraft and other strange things could be heard 24/7.

Where we are (Amelia), rarely is there a sound, except for my terriers "discussing" events through the fence with the next-door neighbor's dachshund.

Never Mind

Thanks everyone. We eliminated the property from consideration.

Thanks for the help.
