Solicitors coming to the door
My understanding is that solicitors are not allowed unless they have permission/approval. Does this rule extend to religious oriented groups going door-to-door and distributing their material?
Just had them show up about twenty minutes ago at our door in Pennecamp, we were thinking the same thing.
I put a small "no soliciting" sign beside my front door. It works very well, have had only one or two people ring the bell in over 3 years. The sign is small enough not to agitate the neighbors or association.
Was personally told by Community Watch that religious folk are exempt from the solicitation restrictions because they are not selling something for cash money.

I'm surprised that there is not a "Do Not Knock" law like we had in in N.J. We just registered with our town to keep ALL people from knocking and also to keep them from throwing those garbage informational flyers at the end of the driveway. I am happy for the people spreading the word about whatever changed their life but don't come on my property to tell me about it please.
I wonder if you did something along the lines of Seinfeld with The Phone Call and required the knockers address before you speak to them. Would they give it up? |
