Welding Needed

Does anyone know of a person that does light welding here in the Villages? I have a Ping Putter that the head broke off the shaft.

I have a welder, but I have no experience welding golf clubs. have you tried any of the local golf shops?
My concern is that these tend to be made of exotic materials (titanium, cobalt, carbon fiber, etc.) that cannot be welded. Unless you know for sure the shaft is steel, and the same for the Ping head, I would not attempt a welding repair. Brazing MAY work for some other metals.
Please check with local repair shops first.

There might be a possibility that one of the local shops can just put a new shaft on your putter.

Golf club shafts are put in using an epoxy that loosens with heat. Get something to grip the broken shaft, maybe vice grips, use a hair dryer to heat the hosel area and after about 5 minutes you can pull the old shaft out. Get a new one from Golfsmith and the shaft epoxy and install the new one and a new grip. Or take the broken club to any club repair shop and they can install a new shaft.

They cannot be welded.

I2ridehd, thank you for the info, I suspected this was the case, and that was why I was very reluctant to attempt the welding, excellent reply.
