How to join the Political discussion forum -- Private and Free
 

Talk of The Villages is making its Political forum private, and open and visible only to those who join our free Political Group.

Our new group is not exclusive and anybody may join. It merely keeps our Political posting topics separate from all other topics.

On one of your visits here, the Political forum will not be visible.

Here's how to join the Political discussion forum, with pictures.


First, click User CP and on the left
(Red arrow in the following picture)

Next, under Networking click Group Memberships

Finally, click the button, at the right side of the Political Group line, in front of Join Group (1)

Click the Join button (2)

Once you join the group you will see the Political board in it's normal place in the forums.

Tony, I followed your instructions to join the Political Forum, without success.

I got the message "This does not appear to be a public user group."

I did too at first Bare, and then I realized I had to push "Join Group" on the right.

Now that I know what people are talking about, I hope I can keep my fool mouth shut.

Gee. I don't think those in Political want people to keep their mouths shut. Let 'em have it, Gracie.

Same with me.... I saw the big "join group" button at the bottom but did not see the little "join group" button on the right. The bottom button should say "save'.... anyway, I figured it out.

I made a small change to the instructions. Hope it is more clear.

Thanks Tony, I'm in! Like rshoffer, I missed the little "join group" button.

It is easy peasy to join, and I'm looking forward to learning more from this diverse group of posters.

The Political forum is up to 132 members.

To join, the easy way, click on the Political Forum ad on the left side of the page. That will take you directly to the join page.

Followed the instructions AFTER people had problems and it's as easy as Tony said

I have carefully followed the instructions but do not see any button for "Join".

I clicked User CP then Group Membership and it took me to a page that said I could leave but nothing about joining the group. Is that because i am already a member of the political forum????

Go to the top of this page and look at the second frame on the left hand side of the page. It should be Site Navigation. Click on the Join the Political Board url.

When you are in New Posts scan the right hand side under Forum and see of you can see Political Talk as a Forum. If you can, you are signed up. If you can't you are not signed up.
