Garage door problems
GARAGE DOOR GOES UP BY ITS SELF WHEN NO ONE IS AT HOME?:22yikes:
|
Happened to myself and others as this subject has been on TOTV before. The original openers The Villages installed have a limited number of distinctive codes. By chance if one of your nr=eighbors is using the same code they could inadvertently be opening your door. I believe this is what happened to me but was never able to be sure. Changing my code did not solve the problem. Since my opener was 12 years old at the time I figured the solution was to replace the old technology with a new opener that used "rolling codes" which changed automatically. Have not had a problem since the replacement. Just could not feel comfortable that when we were away for a few hours, or on vacation, that the door may inadvertently be opened.

When going on vacation, I shut off the opener.
