Cleaning bug stains from siding
 

We moved to The Villages a couple of months ago and, of course, are loving it. We do have one small problem that is more of a Florida thing I imagine (we moved from North Carolina) than a Villages thing. There's some kind of small flying insect that loves to stick themselves in fairly large numbers to our siding and eaves. The bugs themselves wash off easily enough but they leave behind small brown stains that don't hose off or scrub off. Can anybody tell me of something I can spray on that will help eradicate these stains?

I have had luck with a pressure washer and a house cleaning (krud kutter purple color) solution. Just found SNO CAP (available at ACE hardware), this is a mild acid, and does a fantastic job at removing rust stains from the recycled water, it MIGHT also work of the bug stuff. I just hand spray on and 2 minutes later hose off.

I forgot, I replaced the post lamp bulb with a 'bug light', I found one that was a CFL, and still close to white as opposed to yellow, and this seems to have cut down on the number of bugs on the house.

I use a hand pump sprayer..pour in a gallon of PUBLIX Bleach Cleaner..fill with water and spray all the bugs..don't even sweep them off first..then go in and get me a cold beer reward..don't even have to rinse it off afterwards..amazing..works the same way on mold and mildew..don't even have to rinse it off

I use JoMax. Wal-Mart, Home Depot, and Lowes carry it. One gallon lasts a long time as you dilute it with water, and bleach if you like. Any size sprayer will be sufficient.
Spray on, wait 5 minutes and rinse off with a hose. You can find it in the paint section.

DO NOT use auto bug and tar remover. It'll rip the finish off your siding. Lomax is good stuff, that's what I use.
