Baker House, Sat. April 29th
Baker House Heritage Festival
6106 CR 44A, Wildwood
The Baker House Heritage Festival will be held on Saturday, April 29 from 10:00am - 4:00pm and is a free event. We have vendors, educational and historical displays, local community groups and many others involved, along with tours of the home. One of our favorite displays is local native Delilah spinning wool from her rabbits. We are currently looking for vendors and entertainment for our event. If you would be interested in participating, please let us know. We will have food available at the event for purchase.
The Baker House was built by Senator David H. Baker around 1886, in the community of Orange Home. The home consists of a two story main house with porches on both floors and a separate two story kitchen house. Much of the main house is still original, from it’s beautiful wood floors, to the stained glass window on the second floor landing, it is a beautiful landmark in Sumter County. The house was donated to the City of Wildwood in September 2012 and the Wildwood Area Historical Association is working on the restoration of the house.
