Fidget Spinners.

Are fidget spinners a threat to America? Yes. Yes, they are. - Chicago Tribune

I guess I am out-of-touch with the much younger generation as I had not heard about these.

Well, you're not alone. I have grandchildren, but have not heard of this. I don't see much harm in them, much better than staring at video games all day.

Two of my grand-daughters have them and they can really do crazy things with them. Great for their balance.

No more than playing Mumblety-peg in school yard when I was a youth

We used to play " Spread " with a jackknife or hunting knife. You stood facing each other with your feet together. You then took turns throwing the knife into the ground next to the other person's foot, the rules of the game forcing him to move his foot to where the knife stuck into the ground. You " lost " the game when you could not spread your legs any further and fell over. Playing with canvass covered sneakers or sandals often required a trip to the doctor for a stitch or two when the knife was errantly thrown. Does anyone really think fidget spinners are really a threat ? Note I used the word " him ". The girls didn't play.

I knew girls in Reno, Nevada who would play that. And the stitches I have are not on my feet. :)

I'd forgotten about this activity! I remember the boys in my elementary school doing this. Can't imagine that ever would happen today....especially the part re: weapons at school. I don't remember anyone getting hurt though.

One kid in the video says it relieves STRESS?

Why can't they be like we were perfect in every way?

Someone should show them how to make a zip gun to shoot linoleum. Where can you get linoleum today?

We had a blast with snowball fights. Where can you find snow in central Florida?

Chestnut fights. All the Chestnut trees in America have been killed by imported disease.

BB gun. They will put their eye out.

Howdy Doody. Has been censored. Heck this program says
Doody is mispelled.

How can you play cowboys and Indians-politically correct???

TidalWalkers 05-05-2017 05:34 PM

Walgreens sells them for $5.95 near checkout. Pinellas Walgreens out. I bought last 3.

Maybe not that hard to get in the Villages' area unless the fad has hit the Villages Charter Schools too.

I only know parents who have kids who go to South Sumter or the Lake County schools.
