Bold Fresh
 

I am now into the 3rd chapter of Bill O's bestseler...." Bold Fresh....".

I'll reserve final judgement until I've finished the book, but I had to note this, since it became apparent so quickly. His style and sense of self importance is soooo similar to the themes in the many books by Donald Trump that I've read. It already has left me with the conclusion that these may be character traits of extreme success in our culture. Both are bomastic, grandiose, narcissistic types that people can't seem to get enough of. There always seems to be an element of "tongue -in-cheek" delivery which adds some wry humor-- evident in The Factor each night. Whatever the secret, it works!

I have read the book and I was not impressed reading about the life of Bill O'Reilly. I enjoy his TV program but the book leaves me cold. But I am sure he is alot more interesting that Obama.

Light, easy, enjoyable read
 

Found so many similarities in the stories of O'Reilly's life to my own...it was a pleasure to grow up with all this "harmless mischief" once again...certainly O'Reilly decided early on to be the crusader, the "looking out for you" guy (standing up for those unable or unwilling to fend for themselves and taking it to the bad guys). This is where our styles departed; never was a noble crusader of the neighborhood...in fact quite the contrary and leave it at that.
Anyway, found O'Reilly's story to be worth telling & reading about. It's a quick, easy read; my one issue with book is Bill's disparaging remarks about Green Acres (one of my favorite comedies); I wonder if he ever really watched it enough to understand its' subtle nuances & deep plot complexities. :clap2:

Bill and his book is a bit to narrow minded for this century.

Your comment indicates that you likely didn't read the book and are operating on preconceived notions...it's the story of his growing up in a middle class NY neighborhood, his family, his education/teachers, his neighbors, his friends, his values, how he developed into who he is today...how can someones life story be narrow minded? Was he supposed to make things up to make it "wide-minded" (whatever that is)?

Agree, probably seen the name O'Reilly and went on an assumption.

I thought the book was very good.

He's got to be nearly finished reading the book by now I expect...but at 256 pages it's quite an ordeal.

I enjoyed it on CD while driving.
