Is a van conversion (campervan) considered an RV?

We have a camper van, which is technically not an RV. We were wondering if we should store it as an RV or if we could park it in our driveway, or would people object to that. What is the general sentiment and would any of you object to a van in a driveway? We want to start out on the right foot...
