This is something I have always been very aware of and have been very vocal about in other similar topics.
Yes -- I will walk my dog on someone grass! I am not defiant, but I care about my dog's feet. I take my dogs out to do their business on my own property first, but am prepared (with bags) if all does not go according to Hoyle. Homeowners should not get so bent out of shape about a dog walking across the front of their property at curbside. Remember -- we have no sidewalks and homeowners should realize that no permanent damage will ever happen. |
Last week in mid-afternoon, a neighbor was walking her dog. I stopped her and said the blacktop was too hot for her dog's paws. Her answer: "He's used to it".....poor dog.

For our 5:00PM walks, we put cotton booties on our beagle, Bob (actually they are small children sized socks). We use elastic hair bands to hold the socks up. Works very well and he never gets burned feet. He does look a little silly though.
