This article does a nice job of explaining why the voters rejected the progressive agenda in 2016. And unfortunately we have far too many Republicans that no longer abide by the party's fiscal conservative philosophy

the article is spot on in emphasizing the growth of the administrative state. Essentially the federal government grows by leaps and bounds and it results in the federal bureaucracy overtaking Congress . This is what Obama did with pen, phone and fiat. Congress shares blame because they let it happen.

As to the tax policies now being proposed the American voter must demand that the main focus be on REDUCED SPENDING. as it stands now all of Washington wants more tax money. I personally am adverse to any BAT or VAT. Look what happen in Europe with the VAT

Donald John Trump plans to bloat the Federal government not reduce it. At least as far as the military is involved. Trump’s Bloated Military Budget | The American Conservative He is slashing it in areas like Environmental Protection, Library Funding, Consumer Protection, and many other areas that actually help the people who voted for him in some way like reducing global warming and educating people about their rights, finances, etc.

I doubt my grandchildren will hate me. They voted for Trump before I did. They voted for him in the primary and I didn't until the General.
