We need Halal

I'm hankering for some chicken and rice with white sauce/hot sauce.

Wonder if there is any place within a reasonable drive.

I don't need it.

Gpsma 05-23-2017 12:32 PM

But do you know what it is?

manaboutown 05-23-2017 12:37 PM

Reading about food makes me hungry. I am hankering for a BLT right now.

Exactly.

I don't think your going to find any halal/Arabic/muslim food anywhere near tv. maybe down in Orlando ???

Gpsma 05-24-2017 10:11 AM

I fear you are right. There seems to be just too many "meat and potato" eaters in TV. Im sure I can make the chicken and rice but the white sauce might be a challenge.

Why halal?

Halāl (Arabic: حلال‎‎ ḥalāl, "permissible"), also spelled hallal or halaal, refers to what is permissible or lawful in traditional Islamic law. It is frequently applied to permissible food and drinks.

Try Adam Halal Meats and Grocery in Orlando. From what I hear they have wonderful goat meat cut fresh daily. Ask them if they can obtain imported camel meat.

Used to have Urban Curry restaurant on Bichara Blvd...guess enough folks did not agree with the need for it.

Search Google, several recipes for Halal white sauce there. Also, Amazon sells it in condiments. Hope you find a recipe you like.

Maria, I always think of Curry as Indian Food.

You, me and Wikipedia. It originated on the Indian subcontinent.

Curry - Wikipedia

BTW I love it!

Also I don't know if it is Halal and it certainly is not conveniently located to TV but the best leg of lamb I have ever eaten in my life - and I do eat lamb regularly - was at a Moroccan restaurant in Paris named Le 404. Restaurant Le 404 Paris 3eme - Moroccan Restaurant - Restaurant Marocain

Halal just means its kosher for muslims...and probably kosher for jews too.

Shame no one understands different cuisines here.
