5/22/2017 Platelet Donation One Blood.
 

Reached 16.375 gallons yesterday while giving platelets at the One Blood Center near the Villages Regional Hospital.

Iron was 16.5 probably because of the overload of pizza over the past few days. Some pizzas have quite a lot of iron in them.

Terri did the sticking and did a good job but was a little lame with the jokes asking me if I needed to use the rest room after I had a needle up my arm. What was I supposed to do. Ask for a bedpan? Then I figured out she must have been joking.

They told me Mary got some kind of promotion.

Blanca was there working with another platelet donor.

Got stuck with a movie called Oceans Rising on Netflix which was often so far-fetched and illogical that it was good. Like something you would see being torn to shreds by the Mystery Science Theater 3000 crew. Mystery Science Theater 3000

I go back again in a few weeks. Trying to get those six donations of platelets in before 6/30/2017.

I had my appointment cancelled last week. Seems like I am at my limit. Anyway, I give again this Thursday. I'll see then when I can give again.

Good luck on Thursday. I had taken about six weeks off before donating at the Parrot Head Blood Drive about 12 days ago. And then yesterday with the platelets. I did this so hopefully I can donate more platelets from October-December of 2017. I had to take a big hiatus from donating last year around then. Just one platelet donation a month I think.

It is going to take me a while to get used to the Netflix now available at One Blood. I have it at home but use it seldom.

I need to inquire how many donations it takes to get the $20 gift card. It could be a worthwhile financial investment for a retiree.
