What Post Office, or better still, who cases the mail for The Villages?

Went to the PO in Fruitland and was told they have nothing to do with the mail service in TV.

Anyone know?

The US Postal Service carries the mail for TV (duh - you knew that - just pulling your chain). TV is served out of Lady Lake with most of the "work" being done at the Post Office in La Plaza Grande. That is located near Highway 441/27 and Avenida Central. It is basically across 441 from the Perkins Restaurant. There is another Lady Lake Post Office somewhere "behind" Home Depot but I have never been there so can't give you directions.

Because TV is so large, residents often use other area post offices to mail packages, certified mail, registered mail, insured mail, etc. Which one depends on where, in TV, they live. A few go to Wildwood, some go to the Oxford Post Office on Highway 301, and a few go to the Summerfield Post Office, also on 301.

Actually it is that "other one" behind Home Depot that is a large facility and most of the carriers work out of that office. The office is located at 850 Teague Trail.

FYI - most carriers in The Villages are contract carriers.

What USPS type service are you looking for?
BTW I believe the majority of the mail from TV postal stations goes to the facility on CR 25 just east of the Lady Lake town hall.

My problem is, when they case (sort) the mail, my mail from here is being sent to my sons' house in Delaware. It can be addressed to myself or hubby,
but the yellow sticker has my sons' name and address on it

it is being done down here, so who do I talk to?

Like Bogey Boy said the main post office is in Lady Lake near Home Depot on CR25 (850 Teague Trail) behind the Lady Lake municipal offices. I would guess that is where you have to go to change the unwanted forwarding. Good Luck......

I think I have the problem solved. I called them.

Yes, the PO on Teague Tr/ CR 25 services The Villages. I can believe they are contract carriers. My brother worked as a mail carrier for 40 years. The PO isn't like it used to be, but whoever I spoke to there was very nice and understanding.

It's on CR 25.

From 441/27 at Perkins Restaurant go on Griffin Ave East about a mile, Right on CR 25. The Post Office is on the right about a half mile from Griffin Ave.

OR

From 441/27 South of Sam's Club on the East side is the Lade Lake City Hall, turn left at the Stop Light onto the road that goes past City Hall and continue a couple blocks and the Post Office is on the left (off a short access road thru trees)(before your hit CR 25).

oversized packages

Can someone tell me where oversized packages are left to pickup?

If you receive a package delivered by USPS, they will place a key with a tag in your mail box. The tag number corresponds to a larger mail box around the corner at the village mail box area.

If it is too big for the oversize boxes at the mail stop, our mail person brings it by the house after she is done with the mail stop processing.

I guess every mail person is allowed their own way of handling it. Ours has a list of our telephone numbers and calls us to tell us that we have a package too large to fit in the oversized boxes. We can then go down to the mail pickup location and get the package while he is still there. If we are not home to receive the call, then he brings it back to Lady Lake and we have to pick it up in person.

Casing Mail
 

The Villages mail comes out of the Lady Lake po on cr 25, it is cased and delivered by none postal contract carriers.
